Meet The Team

"I qualified back in early 2021, after a very stressful last year of college what with cancelled exams and distance learning, all thanks to the not-so-lovely Covid pandemic! My special clinical interests include inpatient care, surgery and partial to an exotic species!

 

I have a soft spot for guinea pigs and terriers, so comes of no surprise that I own two border terriers of my own, Pip and Otis! I also live with my cat Peach, who rules the house and was hand reared from just days old. 

 

Previously, I ran my own pet services business alongside a small-animal forage shop! This business experience has been invaluable and being able to now combine all of my skills and passion for building Rose Vets is the most exciting venture yet! 

 

Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my partner (when he’s not working away!) and our animals. I also spend a lot of time with family, many of whom have been a huge help in making this journey possible. For one, we’d still have chip fryers in the waiting room if it wasn’t for my dad!"

"I started my nursing career back in 2010 when I was just 16 years old, where I immediately fell in love with the job! I went onto qualifying in 2015 after studying at Myerscough College, and I haven't looked back since. As cliché as it may sound, caring for animals really is my absolute passion. My special clinical interests include dentistry, wound management and behaviour. I pride myself in being a fear-free, approachable and friendly nurse! At home I have a Toy Poodle named Moose, a cat called Twiglet and many treat-demanding chickens! I am engaged to my wonderful partner, James, and we have two incredible (albeit sometimes feral) girls who certainly keep us on our toes!

Outside of work, I dabble in pet photography, boxing and also crocheting. I'm a quiet night in sort of gal as opposed to a loud night out; give me a blanket, a good film and snacks and I'm a happy bunny! I try to keep work and homelife as separate as possible but, much like many of us fellow nurses, from time to time it follows me home; mostly in the form of strays and hand rear babies!"

"I qualified as a veterinary surgeon from Cambridge University in 2009 and have been working in Derbyshire since 2014, gaining my BSAVA post graduate certificates in both Emergency & Critical Care and Ophthalmology. I am also an Official Veterinarian, which means I'm authorised to complete export certificates. I'm dedicated to making the veterinary experience as stress free as possible for owners and their companions. I really enjoy getting to know my clients and have a particular soft spot for senior pets, cats and chickens.

 

Outside of work, I foster for a local cat charity and enjoy running, especially longer distance trail events. Occasionally, I help out with an ex-commercial hen rescue group and love a good community litter pick! I'm owned and ruled by my three rescue cats -- the two cheeky sisters, Cookie and Nellie; and the elderly matriarch of the house, Pookie. I also live with an ever-changing family of rescue hens!"
